Thanks Hessian, it's getting there. After looking at the bottom of the boards I flipped them over to let them dry overnight, they are still pretty damp.

So after Newsettler got done playing with the bandsaw, we got back to work. Still not sure what I want for a lathe yet but to be on the safe side I decided to add some more support. The current one I am looking at is over 500 pounds and if I find a decent older model it will probably be more.

So I added some corner supports.

And added a face support between the top and bottom frames, that way the bench top has support points at the floor and the frame.

And just worked our way around the benches filling in

My nephew was on 2x4 cleaning duty, removing all the ice from the boards.

We put in some cross supports and mounted a 2x12 from the pig pen and a 2x8 to create some shelves.

We added some shelving above the other bench. This side is going to be my hand-tool/woodworking bench.

The other side is going to hold the equipment; lathe, belt sander, drill press, etc. So for right now I am going to hold off on shelves until I end up deciding what I want, I really don't want to rip down shelving.

Now my brother and newsettler tell me that I am overthinking it and should just start moving my tools in and getting everything set up. I agree to a certain extent but newsettler cut up a bunch of pine for me last night that he had left over from some projects. I was originally planning on wrapping the whole thing and building doors.

So I am going to build some stuff tomorrow and do some trim to finish it off. The welder/tig/plasma machine is going to be here wed so this needs be wrapped up tomorrow for the most part, Tuesday I start my welding class and Wed we are starting the press build as soon as the machine gets here. So the shop needs to be done.

I agree!

Didn't get much done yesterday, was tied up most of the day with some errands. I decided to get everything moved in and organized to see exactly what it is I need for organization purposes.

The boards we used for the benchtop were thicker than the 2x4 I had tested the height with, so cutting level is just a little off, I'll have to shim the chop saw with some washers, no biggie.

I had picked up a new table saw a while ago, my old delta was on it's last leg.

The welding cart was a pain in the rear to put together, but finally got it together. Hopefully the machine will be here tomorrow.

Going to try and get the woodworking side set up today, don't have a whole heck of a lot of time because my welding class starts tonight and is 1.5 hours away.

Ended up getting the 301 piece mechanic's tool set from HF, I have plenty of hand tools, but where everything is and with the amount of sockets missing and etc, figured I would start fresh and use my older ones as extras.

Grabbed the hydraulic jack for the press build as well. Really need to get my outlet covers on.

Slowly starting to get organized, this was all the crap I had just laying in the workshop, kind of scared to pull everything out of the side shed, smokehouse and utility room.

We did end up ordering one freezer for the shop, should be enough space in that and the one in our house for our needs, should be here Friday.
