This stuff is actually beautiful clay, it just really sucks when you have to swing a pickaxe at it.

It's been forever since I updated this thread, The WWOOF'er crew we had helping us really kicked butt, and we got a ton of stuff done. I got back from a wedding over that weekend and returned to this!

So we got busy and filled our french drain pipe with gravel to keep it from getting crushed by the weight of the walls

we got it in, and started back filling around it.

I put a few stakes in the trench right up against the pipe as some rough markers for where our courses need to be run.
