So we broke out the new welder yesterday, decided to test it out by making a die for the press build.

We had bought some 5 inch C channel for the base of the dies, so we cut off a piece. The band saw is awesome.

Now due to the curvature on the inside of the channel we needed to split it down the middle as well so that we ended up with 4 inches to fit over the double two inch tubing.

So we mocked it up and held it together with magnets. We used a piece of 1 inch solid round as well.

Let the games begin

All welded up

And filled in the backside.

Think I am going to make a jig that holds it together better and is more accurate.

Do you have, or are you building a hammer?  I'm thinking of making the "Super Rusty."
