Only 4/10 of an acre. Not a lot but it's a good size for being in the middle of the city.

I'm currently looking at figs and peaches. I already have two pecan trees in the yard and some fruit would be nice. We just had a 300 year old oak die of oak wilt so I may put in something fast growing for shade as well. I'll review the water consumption with the nursery when I pick them up.

do you need any privacy screening? look at hybrid poplars, they grow fast and need a ton of water

Oh wow! I do... I was planning to just put up a 7' fence but the poplars seem sufficient. That should work because the side that needs the most privacy is downhill (slight grade).

yeah, we looked at them when we needed to add some privacy, we went with the giant green thuja instead since it's a evergreen
