awesome, I know you have been talking about that for a couple years, good to see it is finally happening.

Yeah. Me too. There have been a lot of personal challenges the last few years.

I want to get back into deer hunting and gardening.  I've been renting for a while a moving around a lot in the past few years which has made it difficult to do either.

I'll pick up a 30-06, some good boots, and whatever else I need and get my butt in the woods again.

I actually took a stab at planning this year's garden last week.  It's a patio garden, and I don't have a ton of space.  I plan to make a 2x3 foot raised bed, use seven railing planters, and probably three topsy turvy things.  Maybe I'll build some smaller boxes if I have the space, but I want some patio space to hang out in too.  I plan to grow onions, tomatoes, carrots, spinach, lettuce, cilantro, parsley, garlic, bell pepper, jalapeno, pole beans, broccoli, and brussel sprouts.

The onions an garlic will last a while, I'll use the tomatoes to make sauce, I can freeze the carrots if need be, and I can likely grow the leafy greens and herbs year round.  I think I'll be able to use the rest of it straight out of the garden.

A room similar to mine. Lots of glass but no skylites.  It will be pretty simple.

in 2016 Id like to set up a rotating pasture system for the chickens using electro net fencing.

rebuild the chicken coop and add separate space for  some ducks.

Run at least 15 meat birds as a trial, possibly build a processing station.

The following users say thank you to groinkick for this useful post:

Is that solar charger still kicking? Does your son still laugh when you shock yourself?
