Awesome thread! If I lived close by I would love to help. I have zero work like that where I currently live in NH.

Well if you're ever in the area I got plenty of it!

Good job DD

Thanks!, My next project is using those sandbags to terrace the hillside, so we're not gardening on a hill. I'm also going to lay some stuff down in between the beds, then throw down wood chips so I don't have to mow it all summer. Stay tuned for that, I should have an update in a day or two once I have the first few rows done.

While I was in garden mode I figured I'd plant the 2.5 pounds of ramps I bought from our local farmer's store.

If anyone doesn't know what ramps are, they are like a wild onion garlicky sort of plant. They have a really strong flavor, but they are popular around here and people really like to cook deer with them so I figured picking some up to plant would be a good idea. Here's what they look like:

I love ramp but haven't found any up here. Just wondering if there is a way to grow them from seed.

Duke, did you overwinter your turnips or plant them early in the season? I planted some turnip seed about two weeks ago. Just about all of them have sprouted up through the ground.

We planted them last fall and let them winter over. I'm hoping to get some seeds from them this year.
