Often in my work as an equine podiatrist I am faced with the argument that horses cannot be ridden barefoot on rocky surfaces. This horse is a 12yo Kentucky mountain pleasure horse. She is ridden regularly. This picture is from two days after she carried her person 12 mi. on very Rocky terrain.
There was no "trimming" for me to do just a bit of touching up.
The beauty is that when in balance, the horses hoof can become almost self maintaining!
