how can I forget?

A friend came over the other day and was asking about the tractor because he wanted one, so I did a quick search on CL for him, found this.

He called them but the dealer is sitting on a security deposit for it. We were going to swap the tires 🙁

Call up the dealer and ask if you could swap tires with the new owner. Maybe pay some difference? Without a loader I would be surprised anyone would want that with the R4 tires. Turf's would be much better for it.

Looks like I am in the market for tires as well; at least a new set for the front right now... Blew out a front moving the back 4 acres yesterday.

I have her sitting on jackstands right now. I am debating Ag's vs R4.

through the end of the week, 0% for 5 years including on attachments purchased at the same time AND loader added on free.

Jon, you may want to stick with Turf's if you do a lot of mowing. If you work the fields a lot and don't care about ruts then Ag's would work but they will destroy a lawn. R4's are a decent replacement but don't do as well in snow as turfs.

Here is how I see it:

Ags -- only for tractors that stay off of a lawn. The tires, by design, dig and and tear up ground for traction.

R4's -- Very tough tires and good for loader/dirt work. Not as great in the snow.

Turfs-- More susceptible to damage but won't tear up your yard and do better in the snow. I hear they also ride easier than R4's.

@thelumberjack -- Call up a Kubota dealer or google for a price check for the model you want. Surprised you are having trouble finding pricing -- JD and Kubota are very easy to get ballpark prices for over the phone. What model are you looking for? The Ones Cabela's sells are rebranded TYM's. Those are good tractors but I would want to know where support is coming from in the future -- Cabela's or TYM?

The following users say thank you to PorkChopsMmm for this useful post:

I'm leaning towards the abs for summer and turf for winter
