Jon, you may want to stick with Turf's if you do a lot of mowing. If you work the fields a lot and don't care about ruts then Ag's would work but they will destroy a lawn. R4's are a decent replacement but don't do as well in snow as turfs.

Here is how I see it:

Ags -- only for tractors that stay off of a lawn. The tires, by design, dig and and tear up ground for traction.

R4's -- Very tough tires and good for loader/dirt work. Not as great in the snow.

Turfs-- More susceptible to damage but won't tear up your yard and do better in the snow. I hear they also ride easier than R4's.

@thelumberjack -- Call up a Kubota dealer or google for a price check for the model you want. Surprised you are having trouble finding pricing -- JD and Kubota are very easy to get ballpark prices for over the phone. What model are you looking for? The Ones Cabela's sells are rebranded TYM's. Those are good tractors but I would want to know where support is coming from in the future -- Cabela's or TYM?

My dilemma is that I need more traction for working in the dirt. The turfs slip a bit with the turn plow.

That's why I am thinking as as well. I need the tractor the most in the animals area which stays wet and muddy except for late summer. I can't get down there now to clear out the bedding and manure.

I just figured out how to lock the rear differential.  I'm not a smart man.

There is also a steering wheel. Saw it in the user manual once.

Lol. They still never mailed it to me. They way they described it, it locked in position. They didn't say you had to hold it. I blame the dealer!

anyone have their tires weighted? Any issues with changing them if they are? My brother put some air in the tires last night and said a mineral oil like substance shot out at him, only thing I can think of is the previous owner added something for weight but the dealer never mentioned it.
