They're perfect for you bro. Zone 3-8.  They originated in cold costal areas of europe and asia.  Very tolerant of cold, wind and salt.  They are both ornamental and food producing.  They have spiny branches and are used as both barriers and windbreaks.

last night I started transplanting stuff into the garden.

Then I planted 3 seaberries, 10 siberian pea shrubs, 3 goumi, 2 honeyberries, 2 gooseberries, and two currants.

Also put up fencing around the stuff that isnt in the food forest area.

Had to order another cherry tree because the one that got ravaged by japanese beetles last year didnt make it.  Sucks because it was only 3 years old.

Nice variety.

Actually 3 more to go. One will go in my son's cabin on the property, and one will go at the back of the property in our shed. My wife doesn't do the go in the brush thing when we are out and about on the property.
