I'm all for cutting the cable, but I wonder if some (maybe a lot of) people end up spending near as much cutting the cable as if they had just kept it and maybe refined their choices a little.
First, you need to maintain high speed internet (so the cable company still has you by the balls). And most cable cutting advocates will recommend you increase your speed for your streaming activities.
Then there's always recommendations of various services (Hulu, Amazon Prime, Netflix, etc). While these are cheaper than cable, I feel they really add up.
Then the incidental charges of buying equipment and programs that you want that you can't see otherwise.
I'm sure there are savings with cutting the cable, but I wonder if it's as much as people really think, and what savings there are, is it really worth it for the inconvenience??

yeah, the only thing I watch on regular tv is history channel, discovery and the fights on fox, my wife pretty much only watches investigative discovery, she's loves her true crime drama
As far as your wife goes, you're not talking about the "How to commit murder and get away with it" show are you?? (ie The First 48)

You're probably ok, unless she started wearing red or blue bandannas recently. lol Also, if she starts referring to firearms as "gats" it's time to run for the hills.
After watching that show for a while, you realize how dependent the police are on a confession.
