one of the hard parts is eating a decent meal in today's rushed society, easier to grab a burger than to make a chicken breast and veg, if that is you, look into doing meal preps on sundays, can lay out the whole week and portion everything out in a couple hours.

Is this going to be updated to read Weight Loss in 2016? (or is it too close to the definition of insanity - doing same thing over and over yet expecting different results?!?)
Having ditched dieting years back, making peace with foods and my body in that process, I can honestly say that dieting is self torture period AND the REgain + is the end results for 95% of those that diet. BEST wishes and good luck with losing weight. The diet industry isn' a $60+ Billion/year business for no reason. In fact the first thing you are most likely to lose is you WALLET.
My personal motto - The Home, a peace worth fighting for.

Eh, it depends on the diet Jain. You're right, some are very counterproductive and downright unhealthy. You're also right when you say it's become a huge industry so you really have to be careful what you read and try. The biggest problem with diets is that I assume (no data to back it up) that most people in that 95% who regain don't have a solid exercise routine. Diet combined with exercise is a pretty well proven method to get healthier.
I'm fortunate enough to already have a solid exercise routine in place, and I plan on stepping that up a bit come new years. The "diet" I'm on isn't really a diet so to speak, but more of a change in the pattern of eating. Instead of eating 2 meals per day like I usually have been, I'm doing 6 (about once every 2 hours or so), just smaller portions. I also measure and weigh and count all the calories in my food to keep it around 2000 per day, which is a lot less then what I had been consuming. The interesting thing is I'm actually eating more, while putting less calories and eating quite a bit cleaner (I absolutely LOVE food lol). Eating in this pattern jumps starts your metabolism, by telling your body that there is a constant supply of food, it doesn't hang on to any extra calories as fat, because it knows there's another meal right around the corner. It spends everything you put in to building muscle and repairing your body post workout.

what kind of stuff are you prepping?
I put together 4 meals per day of 3 oz chicken breast, grilled. 1/2 cup of rice. 1 cup of steamed vegetables. Comes to about 320 calories give or take.
First thing in the AM I make a breakfast sandwich, one egg, two slices of bread, 1 slice American cheese and a handful of spinach. About 300 calories.
Last meal, I do a half cup of plain yogurt, and 2/3 cup of granola. Also just over 300 calories.
