yup, you can eat them. I've had "llama sticks". Friend of mine had a rowdy/aggressive one so it had to go. Took it to the processer and had the whole thing turned into sausages. Pretty good.

Holy crap those are huge boned Llamas. Those last two are massive almost twice the size of typical South American Llamas.

IIRC, the first pic is his females, the second pic is his studs that he keeps in a separate shed, they had just got done shearing them, they have the wool made into yarn and they then make hats, mittens and stuff and sell them at area fairs at the end of summer, I think he said they make anywhere from 5-10,000 a year off them

So..... I found a rescue group based in Montana. When I got ahold of them things really started to click! They have a guy who keeps pack llamas just join their org last year, to kinda help with the cause. He had the bright idea to take four of their younger guys in and train them as packers (they learn the best when around llamas that are already doing it). His idea was that this would make them easier to adopt.

This guy lives 30 minutes from me! We've talked a bit, he says they will be ready to go to a new home around May. MrsMedic and I are going out to his place tomorrow to meet up, see the llamas and how he has things set up. This is very exciting, even if we don't end up getting these four guys this fella is someone that I need to get to know- a guy doing what I want to do that lives locally. I'll try to remember to get some pics.

awesome, haven't forgot about you, just been getting pounded with snow and haven't made it there yet. He is a like minded person, I am going to ask him if he is comfortable recording on go pro.
