Will be interesting to do the price breakdown, I didn't keep meticulous records but do have a good idea of what we went through, 140 bales of hay, a bag of grain every 3 days on average would be pretty accurate I think, the carrots killed us over the last couple months, not sure if I am going to add that into the price, I don't think most people would go through 200 pounds a week.
So $700 for the cows.
$490 in hay.
180 bags of grain for $2700
Would be a lot cheaper to buy grain by the ton, we used 4.5 tons.
Just called the feed store and general feed is going for 349 a ton so that would have been 1570.
So 5.98 a pound as is without the carrots.
4.24 if we would have bought the grain in bulk.
This all depends if we hit the 650 pounds of meat.
