anything they dont like to walk on that you could lay in front of the stairs?
it's what I'm thinking, I made a thread on cattle guards yesterday, I'm going to grab a extra tube gate, spike rebar on the side of the steps and set the gate over it, headed to the farm store now, will report back
we started by cutting the wire fence
and removing the rails
the boys came over to investigate
we mounted the new gate
and laid a second gate across the steps to act as a cattle guard
and let the cows out into the yard
they had to check out the pond, goes to show how little rain we have had over the past two months, the pond is about 2 feet low
polo was eyeing the cherry trees
they weren't to impressed with the ducks, everytime they came into the yard, the steer charged them back into the water
we let them hang out in the yard till it got dark, then corralled them back into the barn
we let the dogs out several times with them, no issues, in fact layla wanted to play with them, until they lowered their heads to charge, then she ran into the house lol
honestly, that was the way I approached it with my wife, she normally mows the lawn, she enjoys it, but she's been putting it off the last couple weeks, so I mentioned last week, ya know, if we let the cows in the yard, they will keep the grass trimmed and the pond cut back, she mentioned again yesterday about mowing the lawn, that's when I said, let's just let the cows in, she agreed!
any cowpies are getting shoveled immediately, the dogs have a "taste" for them
