no, no issues, I asked the plumber who did the rough in when we did it, he said it would make it more difficult trying to get the lines laid out and attached underneath then on top, but we did have a pretty thick slab, I think we ended up just over 6 inches

Alright. Very painfully I got the rest of the plumbing in. Close attention was paid to the slope (going 3/8"-1/2" just in case we have issues when the area is tamped before the concrete pour).

Still haven't fired the concrete guy but plan to tomorrow (he didn't come by on Friday due to rain).

I purchased some paver base material (crushed stone) so that I can even out the base of the trenches and tamp once I've hit 36".

Ordered re-bar chairs, and I've got a friend coming next weekend for laying the rebar. Current date for pour is the 14th.

This is why I own two levels:

Then going left to right we have: 4" main drain (directly below toilet), 2" wet vent that will also serve the vanity, 2" vent for shower (only needed 1.5" but I figured it wouldn't hurt), and 2" shower base.

late question, is this getting tied into existing sewer into the house or are you running a new line? A backflow device might be good insurance if a new line

Great question! There is a backflow device just downstream of where I am tying in (between the city and the house).

Inspector came out this morning and was apparently baffled by my configuration but I talked him into passing it (by explaining how it works). Essentially, my toilet is double-wet-vented he says. Whatever, it'll work.

However, I have to drop two inflatable plugs in tonight and fill it with water to the height of the lowest device and check it for leaks, then call him back out. Makes sense, need to test it.

In other news, fired the contractor - waiting to get the estimate of work done so far. I'm thinking he's going to start high. He already called and asked if I wanted to keep the forms up - Yes, I'd like to keep the one thing that you did. He'll probably charge me for premium wood instead of the shi* that he got from dumpster diving and the landfill.

Why was the inspector baffled by it?

I think that he saw how he would have done it and considered any other way incorrect. He started by telling me "Now that doesn't work." Only after my explanation did he realized that it would in fact function.

Glad you got it worked out, my first reaction after paying 500 for a permit would be to tell him to go pound sand. I am getting grumpy as i get older 🙁

I would tell the contractor to go pound it though!
