Well, looks like everything else is being delivered today so hopefully I should be able to wrap everything up and actually start using the workshop.

Still need to get lathes yet, but I'm holding off on those till I take the class.

A cheaper way to run a dust collection system.

I was looking at the dust collector kits at Harbor Freight

http://www.harborfre.....93601.html

I would need several of them to run all the lines I need. I was thinking maybe pvc but the diameters are all wrong.

So I was standing outside my shop when I looked over my fence.

4 inch drain pipe works perfect

Can get a 50 foot roll of solid from home depot

http://www.homedepot...../203246774

My local building supply has a 100 foot roll for 60 dollars.

Plus they have all the fittings you would need for cheap

http://www.homedepot...../100132566

would need to get a 4 to 2 1/2 reducer for hooking up to power tools

So for a fraction of the commercial products you could put together a pretty cheap dust collector system.

I love my " red neck home depot" at the farm.  Up cycle what you can and save some $$.

I was debating using the perforated and just duct taping the whole thing, not sure how well that would work.

The only issue with the corrugated may be 'build up' in the ridges, just need to check it out every now and again.  If you go with 'duct tape' , I would spend up for the Gorilla tape...in my experience it does hold up much better.

BTW...in your upper pic...you have the shop vac on the top shelf...that looks a bit inconvenient to get out when you need it...unless you don't use it too much.

Good point on the ridges.

That little propane tank heater I got works outstanding.
