the wall to the right of the panel would be the perfect spot for it, there is no wiring in that part and the tank sits just on the other side of the wall.

Good spot, K. They sell these same units at Tractor Supply, Menards, etc. so you could probably find one locally if you wanted to.

Would you keep the place constantly heated or just when you were using the shop?

Would probably keep it around 50 when I'm not in it due to the welder and such or else I would have to take the welder inside and I don't think my wife will be digging that too much.

These have settings, usually, which correlate to a temperature. For example, when put on '2' ours would keep it ~60 to 65 degrees I believe. So setting '1' would probably work for you.

Hmm, will have to look for one that you can wire a thermostat to, we did that with tiny manual propane monitor that we had put into my dad's cabin.
