Okay.   Need/want to get a new set of cordless power tools for the build.

I have older Craftsman 19.2 v tools now...they are heavy but work great and they have lasted very well.

The main tools I want are a Drill/driver and a Impact/driver.  A small circular saw would be nice too, but not critical.

I have started looking at the different brands, the different power set ups and it just looks messy...and there is something about lithium ion batteries and which level of technology they have?

Basically, I want something that works well, doesn't weight a ton, and is lighter than what I currently have.

I have done some research and all I have learned is that no one manufacturer seems to stand out...and what was good last year may be lousy this year.

Trying to learn about the battery options and find a quality brand that will last for a few years...gotta say that my Craftsman set was much better and outlasted my Milwaukie set 5 times over.

...what are you guys having good experience with?

I'm a big fan of DeWalt. I've used their tools when I worked construction and they've held up remarkably well. I still have my first drill from over 8 years ago. Not sure if there's a weight difference there but I can vouch for the quality.

Currently have a porter cable kit, it's alright. Before that I had a Ryobi set for almost 15 years.

What is your budget? If 200-300 I would get a new Ryobi set, if 400-500 I would probably go with a rigid, if 600-800 I would get a dewalt or makita.

My buddy is a contractor and he uses all Makitas and very rarely has an issue and he uses them constantly every day.

If I was buying a new set personally I would probably go with the rigid due to the price point and lifetime warranty. Plus they are doing a sale right now where if you get this kit you get 150 dollars off with buying a qualifying tool.

My employer just got a couple of these for us to use.  I've used it a couple times and really liked it, to the point I was thinking of getting one for myself.

I bought the Rigid drill/driver kit last month to replace my old Ryobi set that finally bit the dust. With the lifetime warranty on the batteries, they are tough to beat.

Ok...some good feed back here...thanks.

The big thing I want to get is the Drill and Impact Driver...anything more in a package is a bonus.

I am surprised to hear people say Ryobi...only because my last set died in about a year...that was a lot of years ago.

Good to hear some cheers for DeWalt too.

Time to start looking for a deal...I will keep you posted.

Ryobi does have a three year warranty, for the price this kit is really hard to beat
