I just caught up with my neighbor, a commercial electrician company.  He said they have been using Rigid for the past few years and he keeps with them.  His stuff is used and pretty much abused by everyone there.  I like the battery warranty with them too.

Just going to keep my eye open for sales.

Thanks.

What to buy...comes down to a needs vs wants thing...Really need a drill and impact driver...pretty basic set and easy to find...then I look at prices of the larger 'combo' kits...for not a lot more money you get a few more bells and whistles...I like bells and whistles...very tempting to 'buy up'.

Still keeping my Craftsman 19.2 volt set up as long as it holds out.

I see there is a new generation of Lithium Ion battery's out and they are more expensive...My hope is that this will lower the price of the existing LI's a bit.

you know, a cheaper option would be to just upgrade the batteries to the new Lithium, they are interchangeable and might make them lighter

Then you could just get the new craftsman drill and driver set and you can share the batteries between the two

or just use the batteries and charger from the new set on the old set and don't buy the battery and charger

k,  think I am going to order a set of LI batteries or a drill/driver set.  Going to see if my chargers will actually charge LI style batteries.  I would love a nice new set of cordless tools...especially since they now have the LED lights on the Drill/Drivers...but I have to remember that want's and needs are two different things...so I need to be practical and frugal...the money I don't spend on a new set will be needed elsewhere for material.

I like shiny and new things...but I have to be practical first.

your old charger will not charge them from everything I have been reading, you need the new one. Honestly I would not try it, lithiums can go boom if they are not charged correctly.

Yeah that's what I was reading last night...can't charge the LI in the old NICAD style...I am not sure about the other way around...more to look at tonight.
