if you leave some on the plant and let them drop and overwinter, you will never have to worry about ground cherries again

I'll see what I can do, my wife got pretty aggressive last year weeding, I expect a few to pop up yet though

bj had given me ground cherries several years ago, we have them coming out of ears, they are very prolific

Yeah, I had four plants last year and they produced roughly a million cherries! KE, looks like you have some natural light coming in as well. I dont have a great space in our house for this, so I have to sprout the seeds in our basement. Im experimenting with taping one of those foil emergency blankets on the wall next to the seedlings to help reflect light and heat from the overhead lamps. Im going to see if I get any better growth.

There is some natural light, but not much, and most in the morning.  I thought about attaching tin foil to the inside of the cat fence to send light back to the plants but I am not sure if it would do much.  The seedlings that are up seem happy, have good sized leaves, and a nice green to them.  If they start to look unhappy I might add some reflective material.

Do you put a fan on your seedlings to encourage them to grow stronger/tougher?

I dont, I always felt they got enough when I put them outside to harden off.

I dont remember who, but someone on here used to "pet" their plants to simulate the wind.

Brushing them does make them sturdier and I think they like the attention.
