so we got the cylinder back on the tractor, hooked it up and blew the hose

my father had the cylinder 180 degrees in the wrong direction, which cause the pivot to rip the hose right off, so off to get a new hose, all better

so I had to wait around till the afternoon before I could pick up the post hole digger, we finally got it back around 5 pm

one hole down

isn't she pretty

we got the gate all mounted

I got ahead of myself, went backed and looked, and the one by the cherry tree was way to high, so I ripped everything out to the gate and redid it

much better

worked long in the night till my wife gave me the stink eye to call it day

not to shabby

except for the side I did in the dark, my wife wants me to redo it and I am now banned from doing any work after dark :(

should get it finished up this morning and start laying the wire fencing

Looking good! Renting the auger was a smart choice; those clam-shovel style post hole diggers are for the birds. They'll make an old man out of you real quick...

so I started out by ripping out about 5 sections

I have to agree with the wife, it looks much better

the last 4 were a pain, kept hitting a lot of rocks, so quite a bit of hand digging was needed, but finally got to the last one

we spent the rest of the night working on the pond, we've had this weird algae bloom/floating grass kick in the past couple weeks

we got the bill from the operator which was 1300, we didn't think that was to bad at all, so he is coming back today, we are going to put drain tile in the ditches we had dug in the back field and cover them up and build a path along the right hand side of the barn that we had cleared out a few days ago, I think I am then going to cedar fence in the back field and open it more to the animals

I see a pistol range on the right side of the barn. Was that on purpose?

Hopefully at some point. We would need to put it deeper in the woods for distance requirements

so we cleared up the ditch along the side of the barn yesterday

and laid in some drain tile and covered with crushed stone

since we had so much wood chips left over, we spread those over the area

now we have a clear path going back to the woods from the barn side, sweet!

we had to fix the ditch a little out back and ran drainage all through that

more crushed stone

and buried everything

I'm going to run my fence over it to smooth it all out, I think I'm going to fence the whole back area in with cedar this weekend, need to figure out how much I need

So at this point, I asked the guy operating the machines if he knew anyone who did hydro-seeding, yeah, me.

Lol, don't you think that would have been a good thing to tell me?

I would of at some point.

So he went and grabbed his equipment.

We pumped the water out of the pond, that little honda pump is sweet, pumps 40 gallons a minute

seems like you need to be a chemist to mix this stuff

each tank will cover 1500 square feet and we used two tanks

yard done

and side yard done

15 minutes later it started raining, I asked if would be okay, he said it should be fine. Then it started downpouring, bad, lightening struck right behind my dads cabin, I thought the turkeys got killed and it rained hard for 4 hours

the result this morning, all the water from the parking lot ran right down the path and washed everything out

he'll be back this afternoon to redo it
