yesterday I finally got outside of my yard mulched.  Bought 14 round bales from local-ish farmer.  Have used 4 so far...its so nice not looking at mud after many years of that soul sucking view.

I find it depressing, I hate looking at my yard right now, the cows have totally torn up around the pond, oh well, it keeps me from hauling water every day

yeah exposed dirt I think in our core of being we know is not good.  @homesteading-boards You got wood chips still you can throw over there?

Got 6 hours of earthworks in today crafting the landing pad/ parking lot for cars and the path down into the house.  Slow going but bit by bit it keep getting better.  Need to now cover the new work I did today with hay....  HAY ..HEY

Also a mini excavator seems about the perfect tool to move round bails.  You can just hug them against the blade ...life blade and your ready to go.  I can unroll them by pushing them...pretty cool. Have not played with round bails before.

We are having winter rye take pretty good being as warm and moist as its been round here.  They are sprouted in garden and in "fields" under hay they have green shoots and stuff.  Good luck ...i can not imagine trying to follow around those guys keeping it looking green

That's the one downside of butchering them now, when the yard dried out last year they did a good job of leveling everything out, looks like I'll be dragging a gate around the yard with the 4 wheeler.

With winter setting in and appointments cancelled, I'm being creative. I've taken my horse hair art to a new level!
