it's hard to see in the pics but the soffit is all vented. My neighbor gave me an estimate for a wall mounted heat pump but it was just over 2000 dollars plus I need to run 220 for it, so no AC. There is usually only a couple of weeks of hot muggy weather anyways.

We trimmed out the corners and windows, not sure if I am going to paint the pine green or stain it the brown

made some z-flashing pans for the windows to set in

Added some support on the outside to keep the windows from tipping out

and spent the rest of the night fighting to get the windows in

kicking myself, should have just gone to home depot and got some flanged new construction sets

I was going to ask about that. I was wondering if you had Johnny Law involved with this at all.

mis cut replacements, but the amount of time we spent reframing, flashing, etc would have been quicker just going with flanged

so anywho, when we originally tore down the existing house back in 06, the house had a barn and workshop, workshop was originally where we are building this, kind of why I wanted it there, I was told by the previous code enforcer that as long as we were repairing or rebuilding what was already there we didn't need a permit. What he didn't tell me was I only had a year to do that if I demoed the existing, so the new one just gave me an app and said to fill out the front page since we went over the one year timeline, he seemed fine with everything and our offsets.
