Cutting down some more tree(s) tonight. Wish I had a tractor with a backblade to help clear the area. Oh well.

Pics of the down tree. I have 2 more trees the size of this one plus one small one to go. I won't be able to work on it tonight so I hope Thursday and Friday night I can get more done.

The tree is straight ahead and I am taking it down so the driveway will extent to the new parking area -- which will be to the right.

Tree down.

Ranger loaded up with branches.

My burn pile is going to be amazing and scary when I touch it off.

And some polar rounds that will be drying for the next year. Poplar doesn't burn as hot as oak but most folks use it for Fall or Spring wood for burning. That way your house doesn't get too hot.

I borrowed a buddies steel roller that fills up with water for pulling behind a lawn tractor. I was thinking it would help me compress the dirt and rocks from grading and graveling the parking pad.

K, picking it up tonight if everything goes as planned. Here is the progress so far:

- Bought most of the electrical wiring I need to wire the new shed and wire the whole barn

- Hung fluorescent lights in the barn to aid in cleaning it out at night (man, they are bright)

- Lit off the brush pile (pics below)

As it stands now I am running out of funds for the project. We had some other stuff come up that used the budget so I have to get creative. My plan is to use railroad ties to outline my parking area and to help contain the 6" of crushed stone I am going to bring in. I don't want to spend the $$ on the railroad ties so I am going to try and find some old ones locally. I also don't have any money for pulling the stumps so I am going to see what a shovel, an axe, and the Ranger in 4 LO can accomplish.

Burn pile.

Lit off -- I thought the FAA was going to be mad at me the smoke went so high.

Cooked down nicely.

And loaded back with more branches.

Getting a nice big pile of rounds for winter 2015.

I cut down a tree and a birds nest fell out and 4 baby birds hit the ground :( I had to relocate them a few times because the nest kept falling. The mom came back and is feeding them! The Google says that song birds (these are robins) can take relocation easily because the parents will look for the birds and feed them -- even if you touch or move them. I am so happy they are going to live -- I thought I killed them.

good job saving the birds!

do you have any cedar on your property you could cut down and use instead of railroad ties?
