Thanks Chia.. That's what I was afraid of regarding the low mileage and plow. I have no idea what the 85% restored is supposed to mean.

Any suggestions on trucks or questions I should ask as I look for one?

I'd ask if it has been used as a plow truck. He could easily lie, but if he's honest and says yes, I'd be wary. Like chia said, trucks used strictly for plowing can be hell for maintenance. Check the undercarraige for rust.

I've never heard a bad word uttered about the older Toyota trucks.

Yup. Those earlier small Toyota trucks were something else, but bigger folks didn't fit well in them.

Honestly, the truck I see the most around here from the 80s, that is still on the road, is the F150. I am no mechanic, and I live in an area where it was basically Ford, Chevy, and Dodge or nothing else - just so you know. But I don't think you are going to find a truck with more aftermarket parts than the F150.

My folks bought a new International Scout in the early 70s. Shipped it over to the Philippines while my dad was in service. He made a couple thousand selling it to one of the locals. He loved it.

When we got back to the U.S. he picked up a 70's Jeep Cherokee. That thing died around 2000. Looked similar to this:

ive been eyeing up these minitrucks. alot of farmers and hunters are using them as cheaper and better built alternatives to UTV's. plus its street legal and is small enough to fit down trails.
