Do you guys consider parts ? Replacement parts ?

I mention this because for a hobby I have a Jeep full of aftermarket parts or "upgrades" which makes normal mechanics shops shy away from working on it.

Occasionally I regret having so many aftermarket parts on it and think about this when it comes time to replace or repair parts.

Guess it is a trade off, it is more capable off road, has stronger than stock in many areas (which reduce breakage) or maybe I need to learn more about what it would take to keep it rollin so to speak.

For example it has chromoly axles, which are stronger, but not readily available. In this example I imagine just to keep it moving an standard axle shaft could be used as replacement, but I think you get the point.

I've heard the trannies go in the Dodge's pretty often. No personal experience though. I prefer the F150's as well.

Have heard this, and experienced it as well.

Had a run of these in use across 15 states, like clockwork the transmissions failed about 150,000 to 180,000.

However, I am sure folks can point out similar issues or weak points with other brands.

Back to the parts question, I have seen some vary capable off road folks he pack an amazing amount of spare parts on their rigs, strapped and packed in all types of unusual places on the vehicle.
