My folks bought a new International Scout in the early 70s. Shipped it over to the Philippines while my dad was in service. He made a couple thousand selling it to one of the locals. He loved it.

When we got back to the U.S. he picked up a 70's Jeep Cherokee. That thing died around 2000. Looked similar to this:

I love the older suv's, my father in law used to have a ramcharger, I loved that thing, it was like this

I've heard the trannies go in the Dodge's pretty often. No personal experience though. I prefer the F150's as well.

be careful with the silverados, I have a 2003 and there is a issue with the transmissions loosing reverse, the band snaps after heavy snowplowing use. The transmission is also in gmc trucks, it's the 4L80E , so if you are buying a old plow truck find out the transmission.

yes, emp you want a carburetor engine not fuel injection and no computer controls, what about add ons? My friend is a deputy and he was showing me the pro guard set up he has for his ar-15 in his cruiser, it would be a good addition to a vehicle.

The Pro Guard is a good set up, it is very secure, and the handcuff key backup is a plus in case you lose power.
